
The Safe Caledonia was built in 1982 at the GVA / Kockums yard in Sweden to a Pacesetter design, and was refurbished and upgraded to DP 2 / POSMOOR in 2004.
The Safe Caledonia has a maximum of 495 beds, 75 workstations, a high level of accommodation and a fully articulated, automated gangway. The Safe Caledonia has DP 2 station keeping abilities and can also deploy a 10-point wire mooring pattern, managed by a POSMOOR thruster assisted online mooring system. She is able to serve the most demanding charters in all geographical areas. Safe Caledonia is currently operating at the Dunbar Elgin field in the UK North Sea for Total.
